Wildflower Blooms, a color blend - Carded wool for handspinning or felting, a biotayarns blend
Out of stock until the end of October, 2024!
Wildflower Blooms is a subtle blue/green, pastel color blend with the brite pops of color and texture.
This current carded color blend is made from dyed in the wool locks of Border Leicester and BFL wool fleece raised in MN and WI along with dyed silk noil.
Available as a 4 ounce quantity.
Biotayarns carded wool blends are made in South Dakota by feeding washed wool (and other fibers) into a carding mill that opens up the locks, removes vegetable matter and passes it through several carding rollers that card the fibers but does not align the fibers parallel as in combed top. The wool you spin directly from this cloud preparation can be spun in a woolen or semi-worsted style. Spinners & Felters familiar with commercial combed top, which can be dense and require significant predrafting, will likely find this carded preparation easy to work with. The fibers are picked and carded (no pin drafting or carbonization) to help retain the unique characteristics of each fiber.
We support local shepherds raising sheep for their wool.
Please remember that colors may appear different on your monitor than in real life. Every effort has been made to convey the colors in my photos as the fiber blend appears to me in person. Photos are taken in natural daylight without any color effects. I card many pounds of fiber blend colorways and variation between batches will exist; similar to different dye lots of yarn.
Non superwash wool - handwash.
