Stone Age Blend - Biotayarns' Spinners Web - Wool/Alpaca carded hand-spinning color blend

Blue-gray dyed wool locks with accents of warm clay and ochre are blended together making a colorway reminiscent of a natural rockscape.  This is a color blend of Border Leicester and BFL wool, Lincoln wool and fine grade Alpaca hand blended and carded together into a marbelized cloud ready for handspinning and/or felting.

This listing is for a 4 ounce bag of hand spinning bliss:  35% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 25% Border Leicester wool, 30% fine grade Alpaca, 10% Lincoln wool locks

This is a unique blend of vibrantly dyed fibers designed especially for creativity in spinning and felting projects. 100% made in the USA from homegrown, hand washed, dyed, blended and fully carded wool and yearling mohair. Hand spinners accustomed to commercial combed top, which can be dense and require significant predrafting, will likely find this carded preparation easy to spin. The fibers are gently processed to help retain the unique characteristics of each fiber.

The animals whose fibers are in this blend were raised by shepherds dedicated to the fiber arts and to their fiber animals.  At Dakota Carding & Wool we pasture raise our sheep and maintain a non medicated, healthy environment for our four-legged friends!  The Border Leicester wool featured in this blend comes from Marsh Creek Crossing in MN, the Alpaca is raised by LT fibers in MN and the Lincoln wool from Snake Creek, MN.
All of the fibers have been carefully sheared, washed, dyed and carded using ecologically safe soaps and dyes.
